This method is based on slowly creating healthy habits that ACTUALLY STICK!!!
4 STEPS TO CREATE A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE THAT LASTS
1. Understand the foundations of a healthy lifestyle
The first step you need to take to create a healthy lifestyle that lasts is to take the time to learn the basics when it comes to creating a healthy lifestyle. Understanding these foundational pieces will help motivate you along your journey as you create new healthy habits so they actually last for years to come.
What having a healthy lifestyle truly means
You need to learn what comes with building a healthy lifestyle, the roadblocks you will face, + how to motivate yourself on the days you fall off-track.
Create + maintain a long-term mindset
Creating healthy habits is built on having a long-term mindset so you are working towards the life you want to build, in general. Instead of just merely looking at what you want the next few months or even year, you need to decide how you want you future to look like. Knowing that will help you as you choose your everyday habits you want to work towards creating.
How your beliefs hold you back or move you forward
You will expedite your habit building process exponentially when you start to truly listen to yourself. The thoughts you tell yourself every day are either pushing you forward in your journey or they’re holding you back. You need to learn strategies to evaluate them so habits become easier to form.
Goal setting 101
A key component to changing your behaviors is to know what you want + how to get there. It’s important to know what makes a strong wellness goal + the exact steps needed to break them down so they are much easier to work towards + achieve.
Habits 101
Of course, you must learn the basics when it comes to habits. It is absolutely necessary to know how habits are made up, how to break bad habits, + the exact steps needed to form brand new ones! Having this foundational piece is a MUST if you’ve been struggling to make habits stick.
Determine your goals + habits
It’s important to begin to think about goals you have for yourself in the next few months, year, + further into the future. Then, begin to brainstorm some habits that could help lead you to reaching your goals. *The next section will help you get more clarity with what habits to potentially choose.

3. Create a step-by-step habit-based plan
After you have researched strategies + have a vague idea of which habits you may want to adopt, it’s time to create a clear plan you can begin to follow every day! That’s how you will see results so you can truly create a healthy lifestyle that lasts.
Get super clear on what you want + how you’ll get there
Decide the exact wellness goals you want to reach in a specific amount of time. Make sure to choose goals that are super specific, measurable, + realistic. Then, attach habits to your goals. Mae sure the habits you choose will lead you to your goals over time.
Reverse engineer your goals + habits
Break down each of your goals + habits so you gradually build them over time (at least 90 days). Divide each goal + each habit up so every week, month, etc you are challenging yourself more + more. Start off easy + slowly build your goals + habits. THIS is a major component to them sticking!
Choose rewards to keep you motivated
Don’t skip this piece. As humans, we need as much motivation as we can get. Choose specific rewards you will give yourself for mini milestones you reach. Make sure you can afford it + that it is not going against the lifestyle you’re trying to create (i.e. don’t use food + alcohol as a reward).
Create a step-by-step visual tracking plan
Lastly, you need to take everything you just did above + put it in a visual tracking plan. Print the plan, display it, + use it to track your progress every single day as you work towards your goals! By the end of your plan you should not only reach your goals (or surpass them!). But, those habits you attached should become part of your daily routine without any tracking necessary!

4. Set yourself up for success + implement your plan
Before you start your plan, you need to implement a few more components to help you stay on-track + motivated! Skipping this step will make the process so much harder + will greatly decrease your success rate at being able to create a healthy lifestyle that lasts.
Set up your accountability
You ABSOLUTELY NEED to set up different systems of accountability to keep you on-track. This includes ways you hold yourself accountable, as well as other people. When you choose people to keep you accountable, you need to give them permission to call you out + make sure to choose people who are supportive + motivational.
Align your environment with your goals
In general, you should take time to go through your everyday spaces by decluttering, organizing, + creating systems. But, take it a step further + make sure that the spaces in your life directly set you up for success when it comes to each of the goals + habits you set for yourself in your plan.
Understand how to evaluate + shift
The final piece is to make time to evaluate your plan + progress as you implement your plan. You need to know what to look for when things don’t seem to be working + understand exactly how to shift + re-align your plan!
