Cultivating a healthy lifestyle is ALL about preparation. Whether that be prioritizing tasks, managing stress, or organizing your house… planning is key!
No matter what, building a healthy lifestyle is directly related to the nutrients that you are taking in each day. Yes, eating a well-balanced diet helps build confidence when it comes to the way you feel when you look in the mirror every day. But, it also is a direct contribution to your mental state.
Ever hear the saying, “you are what you eat?” Well, it is a fact. If you are constantly eating foods jam-packed with processed sugar, trans fats, and hormones, you are going to feel like absolute garbage (which defines all of those foods!).
So, how do you control this? Do your best to limit the amount of meals you are consuming that are not made directly in your kitchen with your own hands.
Why is that? You really never do know the quality of foods served and prepared at restaurants. Also, you are most apt to purchase higher calorie, lower-quality foods on a whim rather than if you are handling the food yourself.
The only way to truly know what you are feeding your mind and body with is to take control and prepare the food yourself.
“I don’t have enough time” is simply an excuse. If you care about your mind and body, you will make and find the time in your schedule.
So, to make that easier, below I have compiled a list of my absolute FAVORITE kitchen tools. Not only do they help keep my waistline trim and my mind fueled, but they save me lots time and money every day.
5 Kitchen Tools That Help Me Cultivate a Healthy Lifestyle
I heard about the NutriBullet for years before I purchased one for myself about a year ago. Once I realized the true potential of this kitchen tool, I began to use this gadget weekly when preparing meals.
Of course, the NutriBullet makes it easy to whip up delicious shakes and smoothies (just like advertised). But, many people don’t realize so many other healthy recipes you can use this tool to make!
The magic bullet can easily be used to make shakes, smoothies, scrambled eggs, hummus, salsa, guacamole, sauces, veggie dips, soups, and freezer fruit pops.
The beauty about this kitchen tool is that all you need when making any of these recipes is the base, a blender cup, and a mixing blade. All pieces safely wash in the dishwasher and are compact and easy to store.
So, instead of paying $4 for hummus (with tons of sodium), $6 for a “healthy” shake (packed with sugar), or $7 for guacamole from a restaurant (with low-grade fruits & vegetables), keep your Nutribullet in an easy-to-reach place in your cabinets!

My good friend’s mom went on vacation a few years ago and swore she has THE BEST hard boiled eggs of her life at her hotel. When she asked them how they made them, they willingly gave up their secret: they did not boil them themselves. They used the Dash Rapid Egg Cooker.
I have always been absolutely terrible at boiling eggs. Either they ended up too runny, overcooked, or I would throw them out after losing my temper when the shell would not peel off easily (am I the only one!?).
I have used this kitchen tool for two years now and every single egg I hard boil comes out absolutely perfect each time! The Dash Rapid Egg Cooker has the ability to make hard, medium, and soft boiled eggs, individual omelets, poached eggs, and scrambled eggs.
All parts (besides the electric base) are dishwasher safe, compact for storage, and the directions are absolutely fools-proof. Also, the price makes it hard to resist!
How does this gadget help keep you healthy? Having hard boiled eggs always available within arms reach in your fridge is a low-cost, simple way to snack when you are on the go.

I feel like food processors are a very underrated kitchen tool these days. But, it is definitely a gadget that should not be overlooked. We put a food processor on our wedding registry and I am so grateful we did!
You might be thinking, “Well… if I already have a blender, why would I need a food processor?” Many people do not realize they are completely different machines.
While a blender is great for ice and liquid-based smoothies and other recipes, a food processor can chop, slice, shred, mix, and puree seamlessly. Having a food processor makes it easy to chop fruits and vegetables, mix dough, grind meats, and make fresh juices.
There are so many different sizes on the market. So, if it is just you living on your own or you and one other person, a smaller option like this one is a great pick. But, if you have a family or are like me and like to meal-prep in large batches, definitely choose a larger option – this is the one I have! Also, the parts are almost always dishwasher friendly!
I would recommend using this tool to keep large containers of chopped fruits and veggies, mixing up homemade bread batter, making fresh-squeeze OJ to start your day, or to make nice large batches of homemade salsa, fresh hummus or guacamole!

If you are new to owning a house or living on your own, you most likely have a whisk that you use to make scrambled eggs and mix various types of batter. But, trust me when I say that handheld mixers make your food taste SO much better.
Why is that? The goal of mixing scrambled eggs is to add air to the mixture (when you see those little bubbles) in order for them to truly come out fluffy. Also, when you mix batter for cakes, pancakes, and muffins you want to make sure all ingredients are completely mixed.
Whisking by hand does not do any of these things well. Take my advice and buy a simple hand mixer like this Cuisinart one that I have. It simply plugs into a wall, whisks different ingredients on various speeds, and easily stores away in a drawer or cabinet.
The parts are easy to wash, make your food taste so much better, and give your hand a break! The one I own comes with multiple types of whisks for different recipes and has a self-storage system to keep everything together easily in your cabinets.
Not only can you make health-packed recipes with this (like omelets, zucchini muffins, mashed cauliflower), but your meals will taste so much better than prepping them with a hand-operated whisk.

Yes. A coffee-maker made this list! Now, this is not just any coffee maker. That’s what makes it such a must-have item!
Since I started drinking coffee in college, I always made my coffee from a simple, cheap coffee maker. Don’t get me wrong, this baby did me well for many years and I highly recommend it if you’re just looking to make a nice, hot cup of coffee once or twice a day.
But, as I enjoyed coffee more and more, I found myself heading in my car and driving to the closest Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts to get a nice, cold iced coffee on a hot summer day. Or, sometimes I was just in the mood for a frothed drink like a cappuccino. My regular coffee maker wasn’t able to do this.
Having the Ninja Coffee Bar saves me a lot of $$$. But, it also keeps be healthy because I save SO many calories! When I make my drinks at home, I know exactly what I am putting into them: non GMO milk & creamers, organic coffee grounds, and NO added nonsense sugar!
