Want to be more confident, but need some little hacks to help you get started?
Lacking confidence is a major component when it comes to sticking to any of your health + fitness goals. When you’re missing it, it’s an easy way to find excuses or crawl right back to bad habits.
Why? Most of our bad habits make us feel good, even just for a little bit. Binging tv… comfort foods… drinking… complaining… gossiping. All of these feel good in the moment. But, often leave us feeling guilty + unmotivated to stay on-track with our goals.
Having self-esteem to push through the temptations + stick with healthy choices requires that you flex your confidence muscles every day! It’s a practice + a skill that requires a little work every day.
Once you make a habit of incorporating some of these into your daily life, reaching your biggest [+ smaller] goals in life get so much easier.
Ready to dive in? Today I am sharing 5 simple + actionable ways you can grow to be more confident every day!
1. BE YOUR OWN BIGGEST CHEERLEADER
The first little hack to be more confident every day is to learn to be super kind to yourself + reframe situations to be positive. Are you your own biggest cheerleader? Do your daily thoughts consist of you admiring your abilities + silently clapping for yourself along the way?
Here is the difference.
LACK OF CONFIDENCE:
- “Why is meditating so hard for me? Why can’t I just sit in silence + have no thoughts. Am I doing it wrong? Probably. I’ll never be able to stick to this.”
- “I am so tired. I don’t feel like getting up + doing this workout today. Does it really matter? I have been doing this for two weeks + barely see any results.”
- “I don’t know how I am going to stick to these new healthy eating habits. I feel so overwhelmed + don’t even know where to start. Why is this so hard for me?”
- “It’s going to take time for me to find my groove with meditating + that’s ok. At least it’s offering me a little time to decompress. I don’t remember the last time I just sat in silence + breathed slowly.”
- “I can’t wait to feel energized after this workout today. I love how it wakes me up + gets me going early! I know in the future if I stick to this that the physical results will come.”
- “I am excited to learn how to eat healthier. I feel a little lost, so let me do a little research to find out three small strategies to attack first so I don’t get too overwhelmed.”
See the difference? A good exercise is to think to yourself: “is this how I would speak to my best friend?” As corny as it sounds, you need to speak the nicest to yourself compared to anyone around you if you want to be more confident every day.
2. FOCUS ON YOURSELF
If you want to be more confident you haveeee to let go of constantly comparing yourself to other people. It’s pointless because you absolutely never know everything about a person. You only truly see people’s highlight reels or what they want you to know about them.
Everyone has their own demons + obstacles to work through every day. Many times, it’s too painful or embarrassing to talk about them. It’s important to remember that the happiest face doesn’t always mean the happiest life!
Focus on comparing yourself to the person you were yesterday. Each day you wake up, take a moment to either think about or journal about the day before + focus on the good. Start your day with a positive mindset!
- What things went right?
- Who did you help?
- What positive interactions did you have?
- What healthy choices did you make?
After you gather a few positive wins for the person you were yesterday, decide which ones you want to carry into the current day you have ahead. What feeling do you want to replicate? Focus on goals you have for yourself + positive habits you can start to form.
Doing this will help you create more of those positive thoughts about yourself to help you boost your confidence so you can carry it throughout the day!
3. WORK ON YOUR MINDSET DAILY
Creating daily habits around working on your mindset will definitely help you be more confident over time. Our thoughts create our realities + there are always new things each of us can learn about ourselves + how we relate to others. There are so may different avenues you can take to add a little mindset practice into your life every day.
Here are some of my favorites:
I love starting each morning with a podcast. You can listen to one while you’re getting ready, going for a walk, or commuting to work. There are thousands of motivational podcasts out there that can help start you off with positive thoughts for the day to help you be more confident! Here is a list of my current favorites + here is a list of the first ones I binged.
Journaling is a great way to set intentions for the day. I enjoy writing down how I feeling, even if it’s not so positive. But, I always try to end it with a simple, positive way to move forward or a lesson I learned. You can learn to be more confident when journaling by writing about all your wins from the day before + what you’re grateful for! Here is a list of journal prompts for you to try.

Girl, if you haven’t started mediating you haveeee to try it! Biggest tip I can give you is: HAVE NO RULES! You don’t need to think about nothing. It’s pretty impossible. Just focus on breathing + relaxing. Set intentions + visualize yourself being confident + happy today. Here are 5 short, free meditations you can try.

4. DO THE THINGS THAT SCARE YOU
This might be one of the biggest tips I can give you if you want to cut the line + really jumpstart your mission to be more confident. Do the things you are most fearful of doing. Whatever they are [just pick safe things… k?].
Most things you really want to do, but are too scared to do, require you to have intense confidence. So… how do you just DO it? You don’t think about it. It helps you be realistic + realize that everything will probably not be perfect. Just take some action + let the magic flow.
Need some guidance? Do this:
SET A FEAR-BASED GOAL
Write down exactly what you have been dying to do, but you’ve been too scared to take a chance + try it!
MAKE A PLAN
Write down a step-by-step plan to reach this goal. Make sure you are taking small enough steps so it’s realistic. But, make sure each step pushes you a little bit out of your comfort zone each time!
- Do step 1.
- Then step 2.
- Then step 3….
Many times, we have trouble doing whatever things we are afraid of in fear of what others will think. Want in on a little secret? Most people are too freakin wrapped up in thinking about themselves. We are all selfish humans who are consumed with our own thoughts + feelings. So, most people won’t care or notice.
But, also welcome that people might say things to/about you that aren’t the nicest! Who cares. For real. Are you going to let THAT hold you back from what you want in life? Forget that.
You know what’s SCARIER than doing the thing you’re afraid of??? Not fulfilling your dreams + desires because you were trying to please other people. Ok?? Nextttt.
Just take some action + every time you go to take a step you’ll be pumped with more + more confidence when you realize you totally have what it takes when you push past your mental limitations + just do the thing!

5. WALK WITH CONFIDENCE
This super simple confidence hack works wonders, my friend. Even if you’re forgetting to do some those tips I just gave you above, having an “I am confident AF” walk immediately changes your mindset, which pours right on into your present attitude + actions.
WHAT IT MEANS TO WALK WITH CONFIDENCE:
- Stand tall with good posture.
- Pull your shoulders back.
- Slightly lift your chin up.
BONUS: think a positive thought about yourself.
I 100% guarantee that every time you do this you will be more confident + will feel inspired to think happier thoughts + go after whatever you want in the moment.
Best part is? The confidence walk is contagious. The more you practice it, the more it’ll naturally become a part of who you are?
